Picking yellow squash

Recently, I was writing about how this year we got some of our garden planted earlier than usual.

Today, I’ll be able to pick a few young yellow squash from our garden.

I always love to pick the first young vegetables from outside in the garden. We do grow lettuce and Nasturtiums and other edibles in the greenhouse all year long. But the first vegetables from the garden are exciting. We grew them ourselves and know that they are fresh and organically raised.

My friend, Kathy, likes the crookneck squash, with the bumpy skins. I like the straightneck, smooth skinned yellow squash. Whichever you like, I hope that you are growing a few plants for fresh squash from the garden.
